o    International Flights: Direct flights depart from New York and Miami to Johannesburg and Cape Town (Capetown). Connecting flights from several cities in the US. Travel through Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.  Johannesburg International is the entry point for most visitors.
o    Hotels provide courtesy buses from the airport and there are public buses and taxis into the city centre as well. The larger car rental companies have airport offices.
o    Cruise Lines: Some cruise lines include South African ports on their sailing itineraries.
o    Domestic and Regional Flights: Domestic carriers and regional airlines operate scheduled flights throughout Southern Africa. Special fees are available for international travellers.
o    Train: Travelling by rail is an excellent way to see Southern Africa. Transnet’s Union Limited operates an historic steam safari train with refurbished coaches that retain their authentic character. Routes from Cape Town range from the 6-day “Golden Thread” to superb 15-day odysseys. Spoornet’s world-famous “Blue Train” recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. In addition to its Pretoria to Cape Town service, it operates a “Zimbabwe Spectacular” route between Pretoria and Victoria Falls. Rovos Rail’s new “Pride of Africa”, a luxury steam train with restored 1940’s carriages, conducts routes between Victoria Falls, Pretoria, Cape Town, George and Knysna. African Safari Express, with its art deco-style coaches, travels between Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and the Shamwari Game Reserve. AKHelpful
