Springbok Performance in Rugby World Cups, South Africa.

South Africa’s performance is summarized in the table below:

These results, which speak for themselves, are summarized in the attached graph. Clearly banning us from competitions, changing the rules, sending off of our players for the slightest infraction and fixing matches does not work. Neither did killing of thousands of Boer women and children (see the article on Emily Hobhouse). Playing with passion and fire when it really matters would be a definite advantage. However, an apology would be a good start. The dignity with which the players and team management dealt with the latest example in the Australian quarter-final suggests that they have emerged stronger as a result.  Well done to all concerned -- I am proud of the dignified way you handled a very difficult situation.
