Annie’s Cottage, Springbok, Namaqualand, Northern Cape Province.

In Springbok, the capital of Namaqualand and gateway to Namibia. A large old farmhouse with a cool verandah, garden and braai by the swimming pool.   The house is the home of Jan and Annatjie Kennedy and is decorated in colonial-style comfort. Features include:

•    Six en-suite bedrooms, all with private entrances.
•    Three rooms lead onto the verandah and two into the garden by the pool.  The Amarula Room has its own patio.
•    The “Voorhuis” is our traditional breakfast room. Safe off-road parking
•    Walk to the old town and restaurants
•    M-Net, TV, swimming pool, braai area and kitchenette
•    Safe hiking, biking (cycling) and 4x4 trails.
•    Pickups from Springbok Airport.

Namaqualand is in the western corner of the Northern Cape.  The area is also called “The Garden of the Gods”.  In August and September, this semi-desert explodes in a kaleidoscope of colour that fills all visitors and locals with peace and wonder. Goegap Nature Reserve, 10-km from Springbok, is a favourite with photographers and nature lovers. Other attractions include:

•    Two wild flower reserves
•    Kalahari Gemsbok Park and Augrabies
•    West Coast, Richtersveld, Fish River Canyon, Ai-Ais, Luderitz, Sossusvlei and Etosha National Park.
