Fika Patso Mountain Resort and Conference Centre, Phuthatijaba, Eastern Free State.
Overlooks the Fika Patso Dam, with the Sentinel and the Amphitheatre with the Devil’s Tooth and the Three Witches in the background. The multi-coloured sandstone cliffs with their cave dwellings and Bushman (Bushmen) paintings are fascinating. Walking and hiking is the main attraction, with many alternatives. How about a night in a spectacular cave with family or friends around a crackling campfire? Attractive two-bedroomed chalets are fully-equipped for self-catering. Namahadi Restaurant and Boots and All Pub. Lunch menu is a la carte. The fresh mountain trout is highly recommended. Dinner is a set four-course menu. Enjoy a champagne brunch on the patio. Three fully equipped conference venues. Horse riding and trout fishing in the highland dams. Climb the chain ladder and see the unequalled view from the top of the Amphitheatre, with Mont aux Sources behind. Visit shops in Qwa-Qwa for clothing, carpets and copperware bargains.
