The complete country getaway. In the foothills of the Compassberg in the Sneeuberg Mountains. On the route of the early travellers Robert Gordon, Barrow and Burchell and the Trek-Boers.  Birthplace of GA Watermeyer, the well-known Afrikaans poet.  Signs of dinosaurs and the Bushman (Bushmen) presence of earlier ages. Grey and red rhebuck, kudu, baboons and other small game.  More than 80 species of birds spotted thus far, including black (Verreaux’s) eagles, with several nesting sites. Comfortable farmhouse with four bedrooms, lounge with fireplace, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and a small library/gallery.  Equipped with bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery and kitchenware.  Trail shop with curios and hikers necessities.  Hot water from a “donkey” – an old fashioned geyser.  Fridge/freezer, braai facilities and wood.
