Goedgelegen Conservancy and Lakomati Cottages, Badplaas, Escarpment, Mpumalanga

Two different mountain retreats providing perfect weekend getaways.  Quiet, private and peaceful, they are in total harmony with the gentle musical sound of water bubbling over rocks, as they capture a magical view of both mountains and river.  The cottages are built of stone and wood under thatch and are beautifully and tastefully decorated, providing guests with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The accommodation is suitable for the family getaways and for small conferences.  In the evenings, the warm glow of campfire embers in the outside lapa is an enriching experience.  Trout fishing can be arranged on neighbouring farms.

o    Lakomati Cottage.  This self-catering and fully equipped thatched cottage can accommodate up to 10 and includes bedding.  The cottage is fully serviced and a well equipped kitchen and braai area and to your comforts.  Heaters are supplied during winter. River tubing is very popular and a large natural pool in the river is the perfect spot for the adventurous swimmer.  For the fisherman -who must be equipped with own rods and fishing gear - there is always the challenge of the Komati River with its stock of yellowfish, kurper and catfish.  Also offered are half-day fabric painting courses supported by instructional videos.  Full kits are supplied.  Breakfast can be provided on request.
o    Goedgelegen Conservancy Cottage.  Situated about 6-km from Lakomati, the Goedgelegen Conservancy cottage can sleep up to seven people.  The open plan lounge is decorated to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, which is enhanced by the open fireplace.  The cottage is fully self-catering and is serviced daily. Walks and trails, with quite remarkable views of the beautiful mountains and abundant waterfalls, offer a perfect day out either on horseback or on foot.  Nature lovers will marvel at the wealth of flora and fauna, small game and up to 172 species of bird life.  Complete lists of what can be seen are available to guests
