Starling Fisheries, Lydenburg, Escarpment, Mpumalanga.

Two superb flyfishing venues:

•    Highland Run. Between 4 and 5 km of excellent river fishing in clear water.  One of the few rivers in Mpumalanga where trout breed naturally and no stocking is practised.  Two 8-bed self-catering cottages enhanced by all modern conveniences. Serviced. Safe surroundings, mountain hiking to enjoy the abundant bird and animal life. 23 km from Lydenburg on the road to Ohrigstad, on the Spekboom River.

•    Loch Long and Stream. 2-3 km of challenging river fishing as well as 2 km of loch fishing.  The loch may be fished from the banks, a float tube or a rowing boat.  Both rainbow and brown trout have been stocked to supplement existing numbers of large trout, bass, carp and barbel.  Accommodation in 4 or 6-bed self-catering cottages, both of which are fully equipped and serviced daily. Walking, boating and birdwatching.

On the Sterkspruit River and the R37, 5-km east of Lydenburg, which is on the R540 northeast of Belfast, which is on the N4 east of Middelburg, which is at the intersection of the N4 with the N11. Travel northeast on the R540 from Belfast to Lydenburg. AWStarling
