Orangewood Lodge, Albert Falls Dam, Midlands, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa

Orangewood Lodge is situated on the banks of Albert Falls Dam at the entrance to Khayalami Bay and boasts spectacular views of the dam.
The Lodge is nestled in a large indigenous garden with an abundance of birdlife and is surrounded by orange groves which form part of an operating citrus farm. The garden is surrounded by an electric fence and has an electric access gate.

We have 4 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 10 people. The main room is en suite and has a queen bed, the second room has a double and a cot, the upstairs bedroom has two three quarter beds and the fourth room has two single beds and a double bunk bed. There is a lock up safe in the main bedroom. Both downstairs bedrooms have a ceiling fan and the upstairs rooms have portable fans. One of the downstairs bedrooms has underfloor heating. The double volume open plan lounge and dining room has wooden floors and there is a large fireplace in the lounge. Concertina doors open up onto the large verandah where there is ample seating to take in the stunning panoramic views. The pub also leads onto the verandah and outside braai facility. The pub has a TV and bar fridge. A weber is also provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, microwave, fridge and chest freezer and all crockery and cutlery. Satellite Tv is provided and the lodge is serviced daily. A laundry service is also available.

Albert Falls dam is the major attraction where water skiing, fishing, canoeing, birding, game viewing and walking are offered. Mountain biking is also a popular weekend sport. We have a wonderful picnic facility bordering the dam which is shaded by large trees and a restful afternoon can be spent there. There is ample parking available.A ski boat is also for hire as long as a valid skippers licence can be produced. bass fishing rods and mountain bikes can be provided.

Nearby attractions include the Albert Falls Game Reserve, Karkloof Spa, Karkloof Canopy Tours, the Amble Inn Restaurant, Ecabazini Zulu Cultural Village and the Amble tourist route.We are only 25 minutes from Pierermaritzburg, 30 minutes from Howick and just over an hour from Durban.
