Harnas Wildlife Foundation, Harnas, Etosha, Namibia, Southern Africa.
Formerly known as Naua Naua Lodge, Harnas Etosha offers a unique experience. This former game lodge, situated a mere 44km south of the Anderson Gate to the Etosha National Park, boasts a safe area for rehabilitated animals where visitors will be able to see these magnificent creatures in our 26 000 ha property.
Accommodation: 9 comfortable and cosy rooms each with their own rustic identity stamp, complemented by a warm African architectural style as inspired by its surroundings and spacious enough to relax in after a sun kissed day. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms, wide-spread mosquito nets on the beds, and even the possibility of game viewing from your doorstep, take it all together and you get sheer, indulgent opulence.
Facilities: Restaurant offers buffet style breakfast and a gourmet set menu for lunch and dinner. A bar, a swimming pool and lounging on the deck is just what you will need to relax.
Attractions & Activities: Enjoy a scenic drive on Harnas Etosha or get a better understanding of rhino conservation with the newly built rhino boma. Hop on a safari truck for a cheetah feeding & sun-downer tour. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, enjoy a day trip to the Etosha National park where you can enjoy the sights of Africa’s finest, from the smallest ant to the majestic elephant as well as hundreds of zebra, antelope and giraffe. For the bird lover in you, be sure to pack your binoculars and see how many of the more than 300 bird species you can spot. As the daylight starts to fade, sit back and relax by the pool, for an unforgettable evening by open fire, under the jewels of the night whilst waiting for the night wanderers to visit the floodlit waterhole.
Location: The Lodge is around 45 minutes’ drive from the Anderson Gate (south entrance) of the Etosha National Park
Travelling from the south via Outjo: Approximately 4 hours from Windhoek by road. From Windhoek you should take the B1 through Otjiwarongo all the way to Outjo. Drive through Outjo and turn onto the C38 as if you are driving out to Etosha National Park’s Anderson Gate entrance at Okaukuejo. About 44km before the Okaukuejo (Anderson Gate) entrance, you turn from the C38 onto the D2695 which is a gravel road. You then drive for 6km on the gravel road and will get the Harnas Etosha entrance to the left. A security guard will open the gate for you. When you enter you drive another 12 km gravel road straight to the lodge; do not turn anywhere.
Travelling from the west via Damaraland: If you are coming from the west on the D2659 from Damaraland / Kamanjab turn right at the sign “Harnas Etosha” onto the farm road and drive through the farm gate to the lodge. When you enter you drive another 12 km gravel road straight to the lodge; do not turn anywhere.
