Mar-Leo Caravan Park, Roodeplaat Dam, Gauteng.

On the banks of the Roodeplaat Dam and Nature Reserve. 62 stands on terraced slopes. Well grassed, mostly level and have adequate shade. All have electrical connections. Braais, water points and rubbish bins at regular intervals. Access roads are tarred. Ablution block with toilets, showers, baths, scullery and laundry tubs. Laundry service nearby. Swimming and kiddie’s pools, kiosk, mini-golf course, playpark, large hall that is used for get-togethers. The Miek Ebersohn Hall at the entrance is used for receptions, functions and conferences. Public telephones. Restaurants, shops and LPG cylinder filling close by. Very popular with anglers, some of whom are able to fish while sitting in their caravans at the edge of the water. Swimming, boating and sailing is not allowed in the reserve but is permitted about 4 km away. The dam is an important centre for rowing in South Africa. Pretoria Zoo, the Carousel Casino and tennis are close by. Cheques accepted. No pets or solid ground sheets. Weekend security at the gate. Roodeplaat dam is northeast of Pretoria. Exit the N1 at its intersection with the R513 north of Pretoria and travel east towards Cullinan. Turn left 1.8-km from the highway onto Kameeldrift Rd. The resort is 7.4-km further on the left.
