Zambezi Adventure Canoeing, Victoria Falls, Zambezi Valley, Northwestern Zimbabwe, Southern Africa.

One can enjoy three options – i.e. canoeing, canoe safaris, adventure walking and canoeing, and walking.  All trips start with clients being collected from one of the hotels in Victoria Falls.

•    Canoeing. Primarily for novices. Canoe the Zambezi upstream of the Victoria Falls. The river attracts large numbers of game. Experience the tranquil serenity of overhung channels and fun-filled roller coaster rapids. Experienced guides share their knowledge of the birds, animals and trees. No previous experience required.

•    Canoe Safaris.

    Kalai Safari. Clients are collected at 07h00 and the day begins with a game drive through the Zambezi National Park. After an English breakfast, your guide will give you a thorough talk on the rules of safe canoeing. Explore narrow overhung channels, running small roller-coaster rapids and game and bird viewing. Enjoy a picnic lunch on a remote island and return to Victoria Falls at 16h30. An excellent days activity, generally in inflatable canoes.
    Overnight canoe trip. Clients are collected at 16h00 and drive to Kalai Camp for sundowners. After a candlelit dinner under the stars, spend the night in our riverside accommodation. Spend the following day as in the Kalai Safari.
    Tsowa Island Safari. Clients are collected at 16h00. Game drive to Kalai Camp in time for sundowners. The following day after an early breakfast, drive upstream to the Tsowa Island launch point.  Spend the first day canoeing to Kalai Camp, and the second to Victoria Falls. This is a real escape and is one of the most popular trips. Generally in Klepper fibreglass canoes.
    Half Day. Same as on the full day except that you will be transferred back to Victoria Falls by 12h30. Inflatable canoes are generally used.

•    Adventure Walking and Canoeing.

    Kingfisher.  This all day adventure starts at 06h30 and involves a half-day walking trail into the springlines above the river accompanied by a professional guide. The hot afternoons are spent on the river.
    Osprey. Two days and two nights walking and canoeing.  Clients are collected at 16h00. Both nights are spent in Kalai Camp. This trip is a perfect combination of walking and canoeing. Walks are usually conducted in the early mornings and evenings when it is cool. The trips are flexible and the amount of walking and canoeing depends on your particular preferences.
    Zambezi Adventure. Four days and three nights walking and canoeing. Collection at 07h00. It involves mainly walking trails accompanied by an experienced guide. The emphasis is on exploring the channels and rapids as well as game viewing and birding during the canoeing sessions.

•    Walking. Tracking big game accompanied by an armed guard who will alert you to the intricacies of this ecosystem (e.g. the life cycle of the dung beetle, the web of the trapdoor spider and the medicinal uses of the sausage tree). Walks along the river and on remote islands or on the sand ridges in the south of the park.  The isolated springs attract large game concentrations.  They combine walking and canoeing resulting in an unparalleled bush experience.
