A Meal to Remember, Limpopo Province, Southern Africa.

Ingredients for the following meal, offered to guests during an African cultural evening at a private game reserve, are gathered from the bush and served in traditional style by the Shangaan tribe:

•    Masonja        Mopane worms
•    Tshuka        Fried termites
•    Xifufununu    Toasted scarab beetle larvae
•    Marog        Wild spinach
•    Ngwiri        Wild sweet potato
•    Nkaanyi        Toasted crushed maroela nuts
•    Nyama        Wild game served over an open fire
•    Nyosh        Cultural pudding
•    Grewia        Bush tea
•    Xi Mongolwani    Makutsam bee honey

And coffee, made from roots of the shepherd’s tree. AKAmeal
