Knysna Forest, Garden Route, Western Cape.

This series of forests covers 60500-Ha on the southern slopes of the Outeniqua Mountains. The trees include assegai, kershout, stinkwood, white ear and yellowwood and shelter a variety of birds, including the shy Knysna loerie and the Knysna scrub warbler.  There is even an old gold-rush village, complete with ambitious workings. Knysna is on the N2 east of George, which is at the intersection of the N2 with the N12. AGKnysna
