Church of the Vow, Pietermaritzburg, Midlands, Central Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Praying for a victory against the Zulu in 1838, a Voortrekker commando vowed to found “a house in memory of His great name” if they won. They did, and the building of the simple, gabled, thatched-roof church began in 1840. It is now the Voortrekker Museum. Pietermaritzburg is on the N3 northwest of Durban, which is at the intersection of the N2 with the N3. AHChurch
