Great Zimbabwe, Masvingo, Southern Zimbabwe, Southern Africa.

Early European visitors believed that Solomon built the 10-m high stone walls. In this regard, read H Ryder Haggard’s great adventure story, “King Solomon’s Mines”. Recent evidence however shows that the builders were indeed Africans, some 700 years ago. Once the home of 40000 people, sub-Saharan Africa’s largest pre-colonial complex covers 720-Ha of the Mutirikwi Valley. Masvingo, formerly known as Fort Victoria, is north of Beit Bridge on the border with South Africa. AHGreat
