Hogsback Day Walk, Hogsback, Amatola Mountains, Border, Eastern Cape.

These forests are said to have been the inspiration for Tolkein’s landscape of the Middle Earth. Choose one of the many piggy-marked trails that lead through cool pine plantations or dark, ancient, indigenous forest to sheer waterfalls and rushing streams. Hogsback is on the R345 north of Alice, which is on the R63 west of King William’s Town, which is on the N6 northwest of East London, which is at the intersection of the N2 with the N6. Turn north off the R63 east of Alice onto the R345 to Hogsback. Alternatively travel southwest on the R345 from Cathcart on the N6. AHHogsback
