Sharks Board, Umhlanga Rocks, North Coast, Central Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The only organisation of its kind in the world. The audio-visual programme is spectacular. It is a combination of sweeping aerials, slow pans, tight close-ups and superb imagery. Although this 26-minute presentation is designed to entertain, it is also educational, with information on the sensory biology of sharks and their role as top predator in the marine food chain. Watch a shark dissection and see the internal machinery of one of the ocean’s most awesome predators.  Visit the display hall and view the large variety of lifelike replicas of sharks, fish, rays, including that of an 892-kg great white shark. Curio shop. For the more adventurous there are trips out to sea on a Sharks Board ski-boat to observe, first hand, how staff service the shark nets off Durban’s Golden Mile.  Enjoy the sights of Durban as you travel through the harbour and out to sea into the rising sun.
