Simunye Pioneer Settlement, Melmoth, Zululand, Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Where present meets past, where western influences and ancient Zulu customs blend, rustic and almost forgotten.  To get there requires a winding journey through time, by ox-cart or on horseback, much like the early pioneers. Eat food at a restaurant which the pioneers ate – fresh from the garden.   Sleep in stonewalled rooms to the tranquil sound of the Mfule River.  Be invited into a Zulu home to experience this cultural exchange first hand.  Sit spellbound as the legend and tales of Toyi Moolman unfold. Enjoy a rock bath or shower in the evening, followed by drinks and dinner serves under a thousand stars. Relax with after dinner drinks and coffee in the unique rock lounge.

Melmoth is on the R68 north of Eshowe, which is on the R68 north of Gingindlovu, which is on the N2 northeast of Durban, which is at the intersection of the N2 with the N3. Travel north on the R68 from the N2 at Gingindlovu to Melmoth. Turn right onto the D256 6-km before reaching Melmoth (just south of the turnoff to the Kwa-Magwaza Hospital) and travel for a further 12-km to Simunye, which is on the left. BFSimunye
