Fruit Route, Route 62, Langkloof, Western Cape.

Since the late 17th century merchants and explorers have travelled through the Langkloof Valley. Experience its visual delights, sample its cuisine and enjoy the hearty hospitality offered by the farming community.  Steeped in history. Between the Kouga and Tsitsikamma Mountains and the Baviaanskloof, it stretches from Kareedouw to Ashton.  Peak Formosa towers over the valley, waiting for visitors to discover its fynbos-covered slopes. One of South Africa's major deciduous fruit farming areas, it is covered with a patchwork of orchards. Accommodation, restaurants and coffee shops in quaint settlements like Misgund, Haarlem, Louterwater, Krakeel as well as towns such as Joubertina and Kareedouw. Hiking, nature lovers, mountain biking (cycling), birdwatchers and stressed executives. Feed the ostriches. 4x4 routes. Turn north off the N15 east of Ashton. Alternatively turn north off the N2 at exit 647 west of Humansdorp. ASLangkloof
