This elegant Cape Dutch styled residence was built in 1940 as a home for South Africa’s Heads of State and was furnished with 18th century European furniture. Originally named Libertas by the wife of General Smuts, its present name, chosen by President Nelson Mandela, means “where the elephant stays”. AHMahlamba
