Baobab Trees, Myths and Legends, Southern Africa.

The baobab tree (Adansonia digitata) is surrounded in myth and legends. One is that spirits inhabit the flowers and lions will eat anyone who eats them. Drinking an infusion of the seeds is reputed to protect one from attack by a crocodile. It might protect one from flu however, as the seeds are rich in vitamin C. The pods are used to make cream of tartar. AIBaobab
